Talking about “better training” for ICE really is a “let’s form a blue ribbon commission” move: It’s something you say when you want to appear to be doing something, but are afraid to do propose anything that might actually matter.

ICE keeps saying the people protesting it are being paid without any evidence, but we have receipts showing that the people *defending* ICE are absolutely being paid.

And yet we only hear lies about the former on cable news.

Introducing the highest U.S. tariffs since the Great Depression, President Trump made a clear promise in the spring: “Jobs and factories will come roaring back into our country.”

They haven’t.
Trump’s promised manufacturing boom is a bust so far
Manufacturing employment has declined every month since April, when the president said tariffs would bring factories “roaring back.”

So, magic.
U.S. President Donald Trump has told his national security team that he would want any U.S. military action in Iran to deliver a swift and decisive blow to the regime and not spark a sustained war that dragged on for weeks or months. - NBC

Yeah, I think a lot about the choice the Trump admin has made to send film crews after everybody to show they're Doing Something.

Biden's DOJ (and Ellison's AG office) were rolling up fraudsters with convictions. But they didn't send influencers to advertise it. Cut to Rs saying Trump finally ACTED
The funny thing is they were. The 60 Minutes piece last fall with Homan ended with them on raids with ICE doing exactly what they are doing now but targeted. Biden just kept it quiet.

Yes, of course, thousands of people are out in the street to ... protect daycare fraudsters. Makes perfect sense.

the question to ask about this is, okay, he wants to cancel the midterms. how does he get the VA state board of elections to cancel the midterms? how does he get the georgia board of elections to do it? how does he convince republican house members to quit their jobs and give up their paychecks?
Trump says a lot of deranged shit, but, per this Reuters article — and the threats of invoking the Insurrection Act in Minnesota this morning — he is very clearly exploring how to cancel the midterms.

This is the safest, most moderate course of action that offers some prospect of de-escalation. It is the only way for Democrats.

Don't do it and we're on a glide path toward brutal fascist dictatorship or civil war. This isn't going to just stop on its own.
Senate Democrats absolutely have to shut the govt down to stop this ICE insanity in the Twin Cities. This is not sustainable & cannot be normalized. Any Democratic vote to provide money to the thugs who are brutalizing this community is a grave betrayal to the people here. Accountability can't wait.

Given how things ended for Lincoln when he WAS the president, I can.
People desperately need someone to focus their hope on and get behind. A lightning rod for all the rage.
Currently there is a "Do you want to be the next Lincoln?" advert in the papers and no one is answering it. I cannot understand it.

Does he really expect people to live under a brutal occupation for 3 more years while they wait for the chance to "vote it away"?

That is not realistic.
Tim Walz had made it clear he has nothing to offer but voting and the courts, but his people are being brutalized and murdered today

You cannot vote war out. You cannot make it go away in the courts or purge it with more training

You cannot even protest war away, when they wage it against you
Non-protesting dad just trying to hustle his kids, as young as 6mo, out of the neighborhood. ICE threw a flash-bang INTO HIS car, all 6 kids in the hospital now.
