This is the scandal. Trump isn’t targeting dangerous people. He’s targeting peaceful immigrants. Almost exclusively.

We need to bring back the 80s-90s thing where films start with the main character realizing they are late for work/school/curfew and bicycling/running through a scenic filming location while an easy-listening pop song plays and the intro credits flash by

People should read this (even though I had to stop reading it).

It brings me back to a truth that has long haunted me: that people eager to enact great cruelty live and walk among us. Only now they work for ICE.

But their existence was never without consequence. Just easier for some to ignore.

How!) and the only thing keeping me sane is playing "One Day More" at max volume every morning

Random Monday snark: I have never read a single Carolyn Hax advice column that struck me as insightful or clarifying. She rambles, she's hard to follow, she seems hung up on arbitrary principles that have nothing to do with the situation at hand. I've read better advice in fortune cookies

So a while back I was commissioned to do short bios of various rock stars, and they were just about universally total psychopaths, with the huge exception of Freddie Mercury. A lovely man who did good by his wife, his lovers, and his cats.
Today (24 November) marks the passing of Freddie Mercury, lead vocalist and pianist of the rock band Queen. He remains regarded as one of the greatest singers in the history of rock music.

If @theguardian.com who had 10.5 million followers on X can leave, so can you.

There's absolutely no excuse for staying.

I have huge admiration and respect for The Guardian for taking a stand and living up to their name.

If you're a good person you should follow their example and leave X.
