The color of Flamingos depends on their diet , the more carotenoids they consume, the brighter pink they become. They can stand on one leg for hours. Scientists believe that this helps them conserve body heat and maintain balance .

Hier ist alles weiß – alle Seen sind gefroren. –15 Grad.
Eine weite, von einer geschlossenen Schneedecke überzogene Fläche eines gefrorenen Sees unter einem blassen, wolkenverhangenen Himmel. Im mittleren Bildbereich ragt eine Gruppe vertrockneten, goldbraunen Schilfgrases aus dem tiefen Weiß hervor. Im Hintergrund zieht sich eine dunkle, im Dunst liegende Waldkante am Horizont entlang.
