What would Keanu Reeves do? Try that. Science. Math. History. Literature. Film and stage. Happy in any environment where people are reasonable and compassionate. Merciless to those who punch downward. Working on being a better person (eventually). No bots.

The most frequently recurring mistake I have made in my life is being afraid to risk discomfort or rejection for the sake of loving and helping other people. And for the sake of learning and growing.

I still screw up, but I blame no one for my choices. And I gratefully share credit for the wins.
This is a person who lives by no principles and no accountability whatsoever. So oily that he thinks nothing sticks to him.

He’ll be making excuses and claiming innocence until the executioner’s noose cuts off his last breath.

The pardoning power is for federal crimes. Felon 47 can’t issue Keggy or his Pentagon immunity from prosecution under international law, state law, or military tribunal.

Whenever the Democrats take the helm next, they’ll probably make nice. I hope I am wrong. We need accountability for murders.
Sadly relevant today.

Who here can remember the days when the top priority of our country’s various agencies was representing the voice of the people, not stroking the shallow ego of a 10-year-old boy?

I wish I could be thankful to live in a country that shares its bounty with grace.
Wow, this is a load of bullshit.

The ironic thing is that in the act of defying science and empirical safety and efficacy evidence, vaccine deniers and vaccine hesitant people condemn their kids to morbidity and mortality, reduce their numbers, and in the long run, effect a net healthier population of vaccinated people.

Thanks?
Unbelievable.

Very few things piss me off more than anti-vax morons killing their children.

Profit has bupkes to do with hard work.

Very profitable co’s (and people) are the best at exploiting people & assets for a high marginal value. Period.

Any labor that doesn’t receive a corresponding share of this marginal value is exploitative.

That’s OK, to a point. Labor itself is also a risk.
"The profit system..."

Teaches people the value of hard work and success: 46%

Brings out the worst in human nature: 40%

Mamdani (and the Trump cabinet FWIW) understand they are not dealing with an adult who understands consequences.

They’re dealing with a 12-year-old trust fund baby who wants to feel powerful and adored.

It is INCREDIBLY easy to manipulate such a person. Russia has understood this for decades.
Find yourself someone who looks at you the way that Trump looks at Mamdani.

Roadkill-Eating Heroin Addict with Zero Medical Training Imposes Scientifically Debunked Vaccine Lie on Disease Control Agency

Thousands of preventable disease victims, including dozens dead, due to addict’s previous chicanery
Breaking News: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said he personally instructed the CDC to abandon its position that vaccines do not cause autism. The move underscores his determination to challenge scientific orthodoxy — in this case, that vaccines save lives — and bend the health department to his will.
RFK Jr. Says He Instructed CDC to Change Vaccines and Autism Language on Website
In an interview, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. cited gaps in vaccine safety research. His critics say he is ignoring a larger point: Vaccines save lives.

Trump is a sick, demented monster enabled by people whom he has some insidious leverage over.

Horrifying doesn’t capture the breadth and depth of the rot in Washington, DC, presided over by the GOP.

Will we survive another 3 YEARS of descent into violence, denial, and insanity?

Remember all the great concepts that Rush Limbaugh initiated?

Who here remembers a guy named Glenn Beck?

Bill O’Reilly?
one thing about this is that in the wake of all of this kirk is basically forgotten. he was barely cold in the ground before his allies — before his *wife* — started scheming over what they could take for themselves. a real life parable.
New: Reuters has tallied job losses, suspensions and investigations stemming from the reaction to Charlie Kirk's Sept. 10 assassination. Its findings: More than 600 Americans have been punished, and the figure is likely to be an under-count.

Instead of looking for reasons why you can’t, look for ways to make it happen. Shut down the “must constantly delight investors” mentality. You’re a better risk if you’re healthy.

Working nonstop doesn’t equal effectiveness. In fact you’re likely missing something or setting yourself up for a fall.

I get $5m for a CEO. But a board that pays its executives eight-figure and higher comp packages is not investing in the sustainability of the company. It’s purely about quarterly earnings. We’re in a corporatist scenario, not well-regulated capitalism. We could change this with the right laws.

Guillermo del Toro has created his master work. This is the best #Frankenstein film I’ve ever seen.

While I love Rory Kinnear’s characterization of the Creature in Penny Dreadful, Jacob Elordi has equaled his performance.

It’s like a gorgeous, fascinating musical without music. *****

Missing a massive to do here.

Fix all the massive gaps in our system of checks and balances. How? #1 task: Overturn Citizens United ASAFP.

Big money is the rot at the center of our government.

Returning to our last save point is not fucking good enough.
the Democratic Party should have 2 major goals for the next time it holds power: (1) completely rebuild the destroyed federal government capacity, and (2) crush the GOP, which enabled so much corruption and immiseration. destroy their funding, jail their leaders, make it so a new party has to emerge
November 15, 2025 at 4:29 PM
This is the key difference between Democrats and GOP. One party will scramble like hell to hide actual criminal behavior. The other eats its own if they have (really) stupid tattoos or mime grabbing someone’s boobs.
*taps mic*

If Dems are in “the files,” then they should be prosecuted too. I don’t give a damn how important they are, how much money they have, or what their politics are. If they are in there, PROSECUTE THEM!!

It's not complicated. All we want is equal justice. NO ONE is above the law. ⚖️

@jimsamuel.com Some federal workers speaking for themselves seem disappointed in the capitulation
If you’re wondering, this is exactly how we federal workers feel

We’ve been fighting for this country since Jan 20th. Leadership needs to fight too

"We went into this shutdown knowing we would suffer but it would be worth it for the country. This deal is a slap in the face to every federal worker"
November 11, 2025 at 5:18 PM
If you’re worried about your retirement account, guess what will happen when the Dems retake Congress in ‘26?

A divided government acts as a moderating force that throttles change. The market loves stability. Keeping demented idiots from enacting stupid executive orders will be a VERY good thing.

Pass the word. Solar has become so ubiquitous in Oz that it can provide free power for 3 hours per day.

One month ago #solar was declared the world’s cheapest energy source. This is weighing all costs of capture, storage and transmission. University of Surrey study.
Australia has so much electricity from solar power that it is going to start offering free electricity to everyone for at least three hours during the day as the wholesale price of power goes negative

#ProjectHailMary is another wonderful story by Andy Weir.

Common themes I love. True friendship transcends any barriers. Science is the best way to solve huge problems. We all win when we set aside our egos and work together. When you build in redundancy to all systems, you increase your odds.

The GOP controls all three branches of government.

They are actively dismantling civil service institutions, cutting taxes for themselves and their donors, denying rule of law and transparency, and collecting bribes to fund real and virtual temples to themselves.

And lying with impunity, nonstop.

I have an idea for what to do with the #EpsteinBallroom in the future.

Turn it into a museum that exhibits the moral vacancy of the GOP-MAGA, including the evidence of criminality, ignorance, & abuse of power.

A quiet monument to excess deaths, families torn apart, needless suffering, and trauma.
