The writer has confirmed there is a very large percentage, it was like 40-60%, of extra dialogue vs the original. These are actual conversations and not Chronicle or Lore content entries. It is more than these original lines that were present you are speaking of.

iirc dev time was 18 months total when the expected time was 9 months. I don't think PS1 graphically was where Xenogears needed to be. I am just glad we got the full story because if they chose to split it into a sequel there was no guarentee we would have gotten it.

The mod's translation currently goes p to Raziel's Tree on Disc 2 so it is still a work in progress. Once completed though I think it is worth the replay to experience.

Anyways, if you get the chance, please check out The Perfect Works mod! It has really enhanced my replay experience a ton. There's so much I genuinely didn't understand, but I do think this is the kind of game that can take a few playthroughs to take it all in.

I'd love to see a remaster because I do feel like that is a large barrier for entry for the modern gamer. Disc 2 begs for voice acting.

I don't know if we will ever see it, but I can dream. Looking forward to trying out Xenosaga and Xenoblade series in the future!

I don't feel like there are many games that match the energy of this one, but I also don't want to come off as over-hyping the game because it's so "cerebral". I know in it's current state it's "incomplete".

The game itself was ambitious as hell for the era it released.

This summer I have spent a bulk of my time replaying Xenogears. As the replay comes to a close I am already feeling bittersweet. There really is something special about this game despite it's various flaws.
