To be fair to McLaren, I also would've forgotten it was a two-stop race. Lots going on. Really busy

Good morning, Bluesky. I hope your Thanksgiving is lovely. Please vote in our second annual Pulse Thanksgiving Draft for the best plate here, which is clearly mine: www.nytimes.com/athletic/683...

After 25 years of calling Jack Frost (1998) my favorite Christmas movie, I’ve actually revisited it today and discovered it’s awful. I feel physically ill

At 24, Oscar Piastri is competing in one of the most pressure-filled spots on the F1 grid and has had to learn the hard way at times.

He spoke to @madelinecoleman.bsky.social about how he dealt with blowing his points lead and more.

Ah, you were so close, Ian. There is no good pie
Apple pie is bad. This is not really debatable. So is key lime pie, while we’re on the topic. Pecan pie is the 🐐 tho.

real Star War lovers know that Rogue One is good Star War. if you're judging Star War on whether it's a good film, you're doing it wrong. if it's good Star War, it's good Star War.

Star War. pew pew
haven’t seen ROS or Solo but this seems like a pretty ball-knowing list from Pritzker, particularly if he volunteered the name “Star Wars” rather than “A New Hope”

Imagine Dragons only twice though

"The Indifferent Stars Above" is so vivid.
Ok BlueSky: what are your favorite history books in terms of sheer page-turning, narrative propulsion? Thinking along the line of Killers of the Flower Moon, etc. Nonfiction chronicles that read like novels or movies.

I think "Bluets" crowbarred my writing mind open. Once you trust your voice, you can follow it anywhere. And a story will tell you how to trace its shape if you listen
performative reading, lack of reading skills, nobody's reading anymore -- NO!

tell me about a book that changed you

for me? the *extremely* ahistorical novel, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY which I read at 13 and was like, "Oh, art can be *everything* to a maker, for good and bad"

Writers truly play with magic. And sometimes writers are shockingly uncreative when you least expect
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."
