#SEACOVERY is running
More than 300 Posidonia seedlings are waiting (and growing) in the aquaria at the @szndohrn.bsky.social, and will soon be transplanted.
These little ones will tell us a lot on how assisted evolution techniques might be essential for effective recovery/restoration.

#SEACOVERY project in moving on!
After growing seedlings from different origins and applying stress hardening techniques on them, they have finally returned to the sea. Now we will monitor them to check the effectiveness of each one of this experimental approaches.
Let's find out!

A glimpse of an underwater meadow.
After an intense week of sampling in the Sardinian coasts, we are back with more than 200 water, sediment and plants samples for the PRIN PNRR project "BORIS"

Just back from CNR-IAS (Sicily) after setting up our experiment, ECLIPSES!
We're diving into the fascinating role of chronobiology in regulating development, growth, and the stress response in Posidonia oceanica seedlings. 🌱Crucial for preserving these vital meadows?

Seed fever!
Researchers from the GPROLab are starting their experiments on Posidonia oceanica seeds and seedlings in Naples and Sicily.
Understanding the role of genetics, physiology and stress tolerance at early life stages is essential for their conservation and recovery

Beautiful shallow Posidonia oceanica meadow in Capo Miseno. New leaves are starting to grow with the upcoming spring, even reaching the surface. An inspiring view which encourage us even more to protect these unique meadows.

Just back from the #PRINBORIS sampling in Sardinia. Thermometer installation in Posidonia oceanica matte, plant, sediment and water samples, everything with the aim of unravelling how temperature might affect the belowground dynamics in P. oceanica meadows. Keep posted to know more!

Who’s the oldest here?!

Today we collected Posidonia oceanica rhizomes near Ischia Island to estimate the age of these clones through lepidochronological analysis for the PhD project PLASTIC-AGE.
