Marmite lover.
Film 2 ... H is for Hawk. Very very good. We were in screen 2 at the Picturehouse though. I prefer screen 1. Seats are nicer.

There's no point in talking to people who don't want to listen. It's taken me a long time to realise that but it's true.

Just booked tickets to see Steve Knightley in March. This week is looking up.

The way we use the word 'values' today really irritates me.
What unites dominant parties, whether they are on the left or the right, is 'do they have a commitment to values or to methods' - part of the Conservative unravelling over the last half-decade is starting to confuse methods with values.

Private Frazer is getting ready to do his thing.
It's not even about a balancing act in this case, he does not need to have more strongly criticised Trump in today's speech, but he could and should have shown more leadership by talking about 'what this all means for the UK public'.

I'm not sure if it's supposed to be our favourite river (Hudson) or the river we live closest to (probably the Exe?) or the river nearest to where we grew up (Wandle). But there you have it. One of those.

1. First film of the year. Hamnet. Vey very good especially the score and Jessie Buckley. I definitely don't like Paul Mescal though.

Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn't Nirvana, Pearly Jam, Soundgarden or Alice in Chains

I very nearly fell into the trap of engaging on a subject which means literally everything to me which I should therefore never ever engage on online (or, really, in real life).

Marty Supreme was... bonkers AF. Mainly, I loved it. The song at the end was the best bit though...of course.

There is no cast.

Shameful under reporting of Eddie Grundy's life and times. And as for Nelson Gabriel... one mention? One? Still. Better than Debbie Aldridge got. Very poor reporting here.

Happy Christmas to all the friends old and new I have connected/reconnected with on BlueSky.

Royal Mail is rubbish. Massive extra charges on my yarn and even tho they've had it for days, they probs won't be delivering til after Xmas. No option to go in person to pick it up. It's a 10 mins walk! I could happily nip down there right now. But no. No Xmas yarn for me. ☹️ Xmas is cancelled.

Delighted to finally find out who won Game of wool. 😁 Looking forward to watching it later on. Such a lovely show. I do hope it comes back. Although I think they will struggle to find a better nicer lovelier group of knitters.

Me wanting anything to happen...winners in competitions, football results, happy endings in tv/film ... is almost always the kiss of death.

A Victorian policeman who puts it about a bit
The true “easy peeler” is, of course, the banana. (This is me attempting some light hearted Christmas banter. Your turn.)

I mean, even if it were, in fact pejorative, and I accept that US English and UK English may differ on this one...we are, in fact, largely dicking around!

My thing is...I don't understand this desire to influence people that so many people have. This obviously means I'm a relic of the past and should just shuffle off asap.
It's because a good-sized chunk of the people on text-based websites have a huge amount of self-worth in the fact they read a lot and fly off the handle at anything which reminds them that this is not widely shared, I think.

Checking the barbican theatre website I see info about dogs but nothing about induction loops. This probably means there isn't an induction loop. In 2025, how can a major arts venue not have an induction loop. ☹️ The concert hall has one. Why not the theatre?

This is madness. They way they just lump all house under one heading. I listen to nervous house thank you very much. No bold or brave house here. Just the nervous kind. And I spell new properly.

So I have to choose between knitting and dr who on Sunday. Obviously it's not a choice, I will be watching dr who duh but I'm pissed off that they couldn't have put it on at 9.

Apparently my listening age is 38. However Spotify definitely can't be trusted. It reckons my top 5 artists are max richter plus the orchestra he conducts on my top listened to piece and separately the soloist. So yeah. It doesn't know what it's doing.
