I have LONG said - the trump voter is a person who is mad they can no longer make racist/sexist/homophobic/ableist jokes without being written up by HR or being told by their millennial kids they can’t be around the grandkids any more.

I NEED a week in NOLA. Eating oysters and all the etouffe. I want breakfasts of shrimp creole over fried green tomatoes with a fried egg on top. I want to walk into old shops with a cocktail to go or a chicory coffee, while I poke around old things and talk with locals about cooking this or that.

I am deeply concerned right now that a trumper runs the cafeteria in a local school where many immigrant families send their kids. How do any parents feel safe with her in charge of their kids food. It’s no wonder so many of them bring instead of buy lunch.

This week I met with a parent who cried because she felt her child with behavior problems was a burden on teachers. I mean…would my life be easier if they behaved? Yes. But my job isn’t to make you feel bad about your kid, but to give both you AND your kid the skills you need to succeed.

I made pizzas tonight. My grocery store has dough that is pre rolled and on parchment paper. So the hard part is done. Plain cheese and pepperoni for the teens. Pesto and smoked mozz on one and a white pizza with tomatoes, red onion, and feta on the other. I am very happy with the results!
