Why I hate Gavin Newsom: a thread
In 2021, our county experienced a catastrophe. The Dixie Fire started in July, and by the beginning of August had burned hundreds of thousands of acres and the towns of Canyondam, Indian Falls, and Greenville.

I genuinely liked Jerry Brown. Didn’t agree with him on lots of stuff, but he wasn’t phony. Gavin is such a naked opportunist.
buriedbybooks.bsky.social
Yeah it’s because the GOP keeps running far right candidates. If they ran a pro-choice candidate in the recall, Newsom would probably have lost. We all hate him.

I don’t know many CA voters who actually think he’s good at his job.

My most unhinged historical opinion is that learning dates is a bad way to teach and learn history.

You should know enough to put events in a timeline, but knowing exact dates is pointless. You can look that stuff up.

He’s been dead to me since 2021, but I know others keep forgetting how bad he is.

I support the trolling as an enemy of my enemy kind of thing, but he’s untrustworthy and vapid.

Partially sentient hair gel.

Yep. He makes some spectacularly stupid veto decisions.

News on the insulin bill kind of buried the fact that he vetoed an earlier version because he thought it would undermine state efforts to make our own. Which hasn’t materialized.

2 years of people rationing insulin bc he’s an asshat.

Oh honey. I’m so very sorry.

Setting aside NYT's centrist "flaw" assertion, something JGL never actually says, this is a very good video. JGL is must more aggressive in this video about AI companies being manipulative, craven assholes.

Mark Zuckerberg has a vision for how A.I. could be used in Meta's universe.

But the actor and filmmaker Joseph Gordon-Levitt is here to point out a flaw in the technology: an apparent lack of guardrails around how the company's chatbot interacts with underage users. nyti.ms/3ILwCNo

Example number 10,001 why Newsom sucks.

Gov. Newsom vetoed a bill that would have tracked data centers’ growing water footprint. He says California is “well positioned” to support the AI-driven data center boom, and he is reluctant to impose “rigid reporting requirements.” www.latimes.com/environment/...
California cracks down on water theft but spares data centers from disclosing how much they use

World Central Kitchen’s Relief Team is in Alaska, where Typhoon Halong left a devastating wake of flooding and destruction in remote coastal cities. Our teams will be serving first responders and impacted families.

We’ll share more information soon. #ChefsForAlaska

He’s the one with the IPad. Has a program that lets him scan in music and turn pages with a foot pedal. Plus make notes with the Apple Pencil. It’s very cool & the wind isn’t an issue for outdoors.

Oldest went to UOP Homecoming to play with the alumni band. Had a blast. The back of his head made their socials 😂

I like to remind people about lifetime limits and the refusal of insurers to sell coverage to people with preexisting conditions.

The ACA has issues. But those 2 things alone make it worth saving and fixing.

Watched Weapons over the weekend. What a creepy movie. I liked it, but it was creepy.

California just passed an insulin price cap bill for copays.

It was unopposed.

He was so awful and smug.

Although I do enjoy the fact that if you search for Joe Lieberman and the ACA, all of the top results immediately blame him for the death of the public option.

I had a set of tires that wasn’t well integrated with the TPS in my Honda. It went off constantly. Usually when I was nowhere near a Les Schwab.

It’s like everyone forgot Joe Fucking Lieberman.

OBAMA: “Better’s good… we’re not gonna get to perfect. Do I think single-payer with no profit motive would’ve been smarter? Absolutely.”

President Obama tells Maron the ACA was a compromise because he didn’t have the votes for what he really wanted. #MedicareForAll

The insistence on teaching only the unhappy stories and treating misery as a prerequisite for literature ruins people’s love for reading.

Happy endings and optimism is just harder to write.

Must have the kind that just measures rotation etc. Which is good! The anxiety of the damn things going off with cold weather is worse than the actual flat for me.

Although I saw a few sites that said 2005-6 have a different system than 2007+. Might have just squeaked not having the kind that constantly annoy everyone.
