No, you're not a terrible fan, but I would recommend playing Redemption and Bloodlines because they are incredible games.

As for metal, I listen to a lot of industrial, symphonic, and Viking metal. Examples would be Genitorturers, Epica, and Tyr respectively.
In fact, I started listening to Genitorturers because one of their songs is in VtM Bloodlines!
