Yes, peeps, it is me again because $2.99 is a STEAL for the ebook (w/ bk 2 next month, no less!)

Writing The Witch Roads in 2022 reignited my love of writing after a rough period when I thought I should just quit. All else aside, this book is about finding joy in the small graces of the world

I see a lot of artists on here questioning whether they should be promoting their work in the current political climate.

The answer is always yes. ART: books, music, film, painting, sculpture - all of it - is the most accessible way to communicate complex topics, ideologies and emotions.

One thing the Hugo Award rec sheet struggles with is artists. Are you an SFF artist, or do you know any that have done work in 2025? Our professional artist and fan artist categories need some love. #art #HugoAwards

Hey y’all, if you are using the setting to remind you to use alt text, you might want to check and make sure it’s still on. I know for a fact that it I had it on for me, but it seems to have turned itself off at some point.

The tale of Tam Lin started as a Scottish ballad featuring a strong-willed heroine, a powerful faerie queen, and a knight in need of rescue. Here are six gripping retellings of this slippery, shapeshifting story!

Love this:

"People seem to get it in their heads that criticism is a lot of things it isn’t (most of the time): a tearing-down, an act of jealousy, an act of ego. The criticism I love best is an act of curiosity. An investigation, an exploration. And an open door. "

NEWSLETTER: on purple prose

this isn’t an essay about how writers used to be good and now they’re bad (untrue, boring). i think it’s an essay about my fear that we have pruned our gardens too ruthlessly, and saved no corners for the impractical, the vivid and wondrous, the joyous and fantastic. that we call prose “purple” because we’ve gotten too used to prose without any color at all.
