To my new followers:
Thank you, first of all. A few things. I make black metal under the name Fathomless. Absolutely NO right wing/fascist shit, trans/homophobia, or AI.

Fathomless is functionally a one-man band, but I roped in some very talented friends to do session work for the recording
I ran into my favorite teacher at my work event this evening. I had her class from 1998-2000, and she still remembered me after all these years. You're the best Mrs. Barghols, thanks for teaching me it's OK to be weird as long as you're authentic
I typically don't use drop tunings in general (although Fathomless II is all in drop D). I have to think about my fingerings too much, and it slows down my writing process. It doesn't bother me when other artists use drop tuning, I just personally don't like playing in them
Nothing cringe about standard as far as I'm concerned
I do already have several software versions of the whole range of Pultec EQs from both UAD and Waves, so I'm not looking for more plugin recommendations
Audio engineering friends: do any of you have any real world experience with the Warm Audio EQP-WA? I'd love a hardware version of the Pultec EQP-1A, but I'm not willing/able to drop $4500 on one. GC has a used WA version avaliable, but I don't know how alike it really is
I'm enjoying a lovely Sunday afternoon with the family. Sitting in the cheap seats and watching OKC's third string beat up on the Pelicans

Last night's horror movie, my 31st for the month, was my all time favorite, Re-Animator.

If you want or need SNAP benefits, literally the only barrier should be...signing up.

"But what about fraud?" My sibling in red, white, and blue, THE PENTAGON HASN'T PASSED AN AUDIT IN YEARS AND MONEY IS FAKE. I don't care if too many people have food assistance.
Going to my friend's gigs this week have been very different experiences

Wednesday: Dischordia opening for BALTTW and Volcandra at a sketchy venue. Death fucking metal all night

Friday: My friend Dave playing cowboy chord cover songs on an acoustic at a snooty wine bar
I first heard Falcula around 2006ish, when that album was WAY out of print. I then went on a holy grail-esque quest to find a copy. I finally found a digital copy on a sketchy Norwegian website that probably stole my banking info. Kids today will never know the struggles (lucky bastards)
That album is incredible, but I think Nær Solen Gar Niþer For Evogher is even better
New hoodie, and It's super comfortable. I have to say, I'm starting to agree with @theoriginalkep.bsky.social about Gildan cotton. Maybe they've gotten better recently, but I can't find anything wrong with this (or the Gildan Fleshgod Apocalypse shirt I got last year)

half of this has been covered. can anyone help get it all the way down?
#MutualAid

guess we're doing this again because those people just aren't getting back about paying me yet. I'm short $50 this week and if someone can help, that'd be great. paypal is in the replies. please repost this.
My favorite dorky Dads, Dischordia.
Some snippets from last night. Huge respect to BALTTW and Volcandra for giving it everything and performing like it was a full house despite the pitiful turnout.
There is no venue in OKC that's worse at promoting shows than 89th street. This was an amazing show that was attended by about 25 people, 20 of which were friends of the dudes in Dischordia (including me).
How I'll be spending my evening tonight:
My son's birthday is tomorrow. So close, yet so far. Happy birthday to you.
How I'll be spending my evening tonight:
Tonight's movie is one I unapologetically love. It's not good, but I love it anyway. The Nu-Metal soundtrack, the one liners, the gratuitous overacting, and the cartoonish kills. It feels like the last of an era of old school slashers.
Last night's movie selections were Weapons and The Witch. First time seeing either, and I enjoyed both. Robert Eggers is an absolute master of atmosphere.
I posted a little work in progress teaser the other day.
Lol. I didn't realize how loud Futurama was playing in the other room.
