Morning all, been a busy start of the year and photography has taken a backseat for a number of weeks. However, got the chance to spend a few days on the Fife coast

I wrote about taking this photo in my latest Substack. A “stop the car” moment when we finally saw some atmosphere. No time for tripods, just grab the camera and run.

Also a look at working in black and white, which I seldom do.

I was bemoaning the lack of fresh “subjects” when I remembered this. This is what my photography is all about - observation. Even with a subject in mind it’s rarely what I end up photographing. #GetOutside

Following on from my last post, a few colour images from the colour half of “As the Sun Sets”

A few from the B&W half of an old project and book never made real of mine “As the Sun Sets”. Always envisaged a pair of books, one colour, one black and white, of these garden portraits and moments of introspection…then it all got too expensive and my ADHD gave up on completion lol.

Last light

Just back from a week in Wester Ross and Scotland did us proud.....5 consecutive blue sky days and I mean blue sky. Literally wall to wall sunshine, not a cloud in sight for the vast majority of the time; little if any wind. Opinan dunes as the sun disappeared.

I live in a very agricultural area with big open fields, so it's always a bit of challenge photographically. Abstracts shapes are one way round it.
