My mother told me once that the trouble with socialism is once it has worked (pulled people out of poverty) they turn their back on it. When people are comfortably off they (think) they don’t need it so much.
But there’s others who need you to help them:

The largest part of welfare is our pension.
We’re already having to wait (or work as Zia Yusuf would like) for an extra 7 years we weren’t expecting to do when we started paying in.
So we can see where he wants to make savings.

On a lighter note I spent hours waiting in A&E to get a fish bone out of my throat. If anyone is wasting NHS time, it’s silly me!
But boy, was I grateful to the doctor who got it out and to not have a bill.

Health tourism? What health tourism?
You can’t just get treatment unless you have an NHS number.
Besides I feel proud when I know that our NHS has some of the best Drs and consultants who can help those who can’t get help anywhere else in the world.
People like Malala Yousafzai for example.

I thought @zackpolanski.bsky.social was brilliant on #BBCQT tonight despite a hostile panel and personal attacks. Calling out fascism and racism rather than blaming immigrants, calling for a wealth tax rather than blaming poor and disabled people for needing a properly funded welfare system.

Paul Marshall, the billionaire owner of GB News, is quite happy to keep shelling out because it gives him power politically.

Why do Labour ministers keep appearing despite the hostile coverage? If ministers boycotted GB News, it would lose even more money pressuring Paul Marshall. Same with X.
