I get offered to try a lot of foodstuffs at my job, and I mostly decline because sensory issues make me a verrry picky eater, but this week I resolved to say yes to as much as possible and I’ve tried three (3) new things this week, and two of them were even kinda good, and I am proud of myself.

There are so many northern transplants living in this town that I wore a Pens 🏒 shirt to my first day at the new job thinking it might spark some good natured arguing and instead got stopped by strangers a bunch of times for some Hell Yeahs ☺️

I incorporated “y’all” into my regular vocabulary even though it doesn’t come naturally to me because the plural pronoun that does come naturally to me is “guys” which obviously is not always correct or welcome for people. Alternately, big fan of “gang,” thinking of making “hoodlums” happen in 2026.

I have a much younger cousin who is trans, who was at today’s family party - as well as older relative(s) who haven’t been in touch in over a decade & had no clue who he was when they saw him. Had to bust out one of my favorite phrases, “You don’t have to understand, you just have to be respectful.”

This probably sounds goofy, but I’m absolutely terrified of the traffic patterns in the town I just moved to this weekend, so I waited til stupid o’clock so there wouldn’t be any traffic to take a little joyride up the main road and try to shake off my driving nerves a bit. I think it helped! Bleh.
