Yeah, I actually really loved that prof that gave me a B and she went out of her way to help me in my writing.

She was the one to help me get into conferences with my spite paper lol.

The B was because I used "they" as a singular pronoun too much.
To be fair to the prof she personally wrote me a 3 page instructional on how to handle gender of hypothetical figures in academic writing

I wrote a paper on the ethics of hiveminds specifically to use "they" as often as possible

I learned after a while i had adhd and how to better manage so I wasnt putting myself into impossible crunch.
But I wouldn't have learned jack shit if I gave up and used AI.

Getting a B on a last minute paper lead to my greatest spite paper ever written which got me into grad school.

When the prof was returning papers he was doing the "gentle talk" about writing and expectations because the class as a whole didnt do great.
Got an A.

I wrote a 15 page report on heraldic symbolism in medieval armor and weapon design for my art history class the night before it was due (8am class). Made up 90% of it (only found one book for reference) and got an A. GenAI could fucking never.

wrote 20 pages on Faulkner's The Bear four hours before final papers were due on trucker pills and coffee and cigarettes and got an A, fuck you.
You people couldn't hang with real slackers.

Logically, color mixing is just knowing blue, red, yellow, white, and black.

In paint, its the tiny things like how sheen impacts it, how the light bounces off the paint, etc.

You get a feel for it, and a camera is good but cant work quite the same way as human eyes.

I mix and sell paint. People ask if Im worried since they have portable paint matching tools.

Lol no.

I can get a better match than a computer any day of the week.
I know this, because often im fixing a messed up computer match.

Skills are important. Its not just knowledge but training your eyes, hands, arms, etc.

That is hard to replace, and hard to replicate when it's gone.
