There is a growing sense that the spell is breaking. The self-dealing, the focus on political vengeance, the bluster, the endless mendacity, cruelty and economic illiteracy are all catching up to him. He's also visibly frail compared to just a few years ago.

What I can’t fathom here is Friedman’s basic conflation of religion with ethics. The reality is that religiosity is most often inversely correlated with morality. His big solution for our challenges is no solution at all. Just ask the Trump voting evangelicals!

The fact that the richest country in history has the highest levels of social INSECURITY in the rich world is due to a rapacious and predatory elite that has rigged the rules.

Trump’s con is based on exploiting the aggrieved by blaming foreigners & immigrants and promising to fix it.

The Global Times, pointed to the White House’s new national security strategy, as “evidence of the U.S. acknowledging its relative decline in power.” Washington has realized “it cannot afford the costs of prolonged confrontation” with China.

Trump can’t be trusted.

Some cultures, like the MAGA white supremacist culture, are based on ignorance, lies and susceptibility to irrationality and conspiracies. If it ever becomes the dominant culture of the nation, the US will be a shithole like the mind of the treasonous slob.

And his sick rich friends. The most corrupt evil man to ever serve as president is ignoring real evil

Looks like the treasonous slob is getting the US into a war with Venezuela because a) President Maduro is seen as an enemy of Trump’s and b) Venezuela is oil rich but militarily weak. That doesn’t mean Americans will necessarily succeed - see Vietnam and Iraq. Another catastrophe in the making.
