Tucked within the Senate appropriation bill to end the shutdown is a measure that allows the 8 Republican senators whose phone logs were seized during special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation of the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, to sue the government for up to $500,000 apiece.

<div class="field field-field-text"><p>Unicef said on Tuesday that Israel is blocking essential items, including 1.6 million syringes and solar-powered fridges used to store vaccine vials, from entering Gaza.</p>
<p>The warning comes as Unicef works to carry out a mass child vaccination campaign under the fragile ceasefire, which Israel has violated 282 times since October.</p>
<p>The syringes, along with bottles for baby formula, have been awaiting customs clearance since August, leaving thousands of children at risk as health services in the besieged Strip remain shattered after two years of Israel’s genocide.</p>

I would have liked to know how China's performance compares with the US, EU and India, in relative and absolute terms. But I guess that would have required the journalist to do some analysis.
