Pundit supporters of "permitting reform" sweep aside (& do not understand) ecology & community.

In their ignorance, they seek to confine the decision-making space to energy infrastructure.

This invariably leads to doomed conflict btw/energy infrastructure + ecological & community systems.

To emphasize: The SPEED Act’s relevance is not confined to energy, to the fight btw/fossil fuels & renewables. Its implications are expansive, covering all federal action that may harm the environment.

Whole ecological systems at risk under the false notion that building fast is building well.

End of @enlit-europe.bsky.social. I'm amazed at the the creativity of folks trying to address grid flexibility, consumer empowerment, optimization, and streamlining processes. Still, there was a lot less interest in other dimensions of the energy transition #Enlit

Some interesting insights after the first morning at @enlit-europe.bsky.social. The first relates to solar power's "winning formula". In terms of scalability, flexibility, co-location with other technologies, and price, solar is unbeatable. Co-location of solar and storage is a no-brainer.

Peter Thiel has sold all of his Nvidia stock.

We all need to say this very clearly:

NO BAILOUTS FOR THEFT-TECH!

Expropriate their asses instead.

They stole from all of us and fully plan to burn the planet.

They owe us - not the other way around. 1/3

I'm kind of baffled how the "moderates" have apparently all decided to turn against climate policy at once, just as China reaches green electrostate liftoff mode. I thought these people were all about National Greatness and making Hard Choices

All the folks who contend we do not need to directly challenge the entrenched power of the fossil fuel industry—and that we can accommodate their policy priorities (e.g., federal “permitting reform”)—are either lying or deluding themselves that this is an effective climate strategy. Root. Them. Out.

The critical thing is that "gross emissions" go down rapidly, to near zero in 2050 or so, for ~1.5°C. This is how you solve the climate problem.

That green slither of carbon dioxide removal is a nice to have, not a do-or-die requirement.

Focus on reducing emissions.
