Saturday tunes!

Going with some friends to a music quiz in about a hour and a half, been far too long since the last time!

Not been this upset in a long time. It genuinely rattled me.

A masterpiece in how goddamn uncomfortable the whole thing is, with the stars who hated each other and the story is just a pure nightmare downward spiral.
Currently watching WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE (1962, Robert Aldrich) and it's the most deeply upsetting thing I've watched all year.
Love the whole "crime thriller but one of the characters is literally a demon" schtick. The bug motif with him goes strong.
I'm counting Blood Simple as a horror film and you can't stop me
I almost fucking forgot Letterboxd Last Four Friday!

Let's gooooo!
Favorite film meaning my favorite by the Coens, not my number one favorite of all the films that Criterion has released. Just to not make it confusing lol.
Just watched the Criterion release of Blood Simple (1984, Joel Coen) and my fucking god does it look fantastic in 4K!

Easily my favorite film by them and this really is a must-get release for any collector.

Yeah, I mean it's day and night between this one and, like, The Giant Spider Invasion.

Go Packers!
Watched the film for the first time last year and I really loved it!

I really love spiders, but it did actually kinda stress me out at times due to the film focusing more on them being extremely venomous rather than them being the regular "goofy giant sized horror schlock" type of spiders.
Pretty much a perfect film in my eyes. Grimy, uncomfortable and sleazy as fuck.

There really should be a triple bill with Maniac, Cruising & Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer.
Now Rewatching: Maniac (1980, William Lustig)

One of my favorites.
Now Rewatching: Maniac (1980, William Lustig)

One of my favorites.
The original is such a mean fucker with absolutely rancid vibes, so I'm curious how they'll do it in the remake.
Next of Kin is like the extension of a giallo into the 80s, and House By The Cemetery might have some wacky Italian flavor but it's one of Fulci's more haunting films.
There really should be more. The directing and visuals in it are out of this world.
Well put! Just gets worse and more rotten by the second!
All bangers!

The Innocents and Ghostwatch are among the very few films to scare the shit out of me.

Angel Heart is pure bad vibes and I absolutely love it.

Phantom of the Paradise is so much fun and one of my absolute favorite musicals!
Quote this with the first four Horror movies that come to your mind that are 10/10s for you. No cheating. Just the first four that pop into your head.

Every time I see the Universal Logo I'm just thinking "What will be the start for their new Dark Universe?" 😩
It's also my favorite as well.

A gothic Christmas nightmare with so many great characters and visuals.
All I hear about the Monster: Ed Gein whatever the fuck that show is called makes me just want to rewatch Deranged (1974, Alan Ormsby, Jeff Gillen) instead
