Just cut my gas & electric payment to £15/ month. I'm £500 in credit, but may use a tad more than usual over the next 4-5 months.

So I went full on IT mode and threatened the Octopus Mini with defenestration and it capitulated. If only that worked on Parish Clerks and Mothers!

Can't make my hair appointment next Friday, but my lovely hairdresser managed to squeeze me in during her break this morning for a trim. Then an afternoon at the flicks seeing Now You See Me, Now You Don't and Nuremberg.

Is it in bad taste to have When the Foeman Bares His Steel at a funeral? Pa played a policeman in the university production way back in The Olden Days.

Nothing like a bit of death & glory and Cornish tears!

Rather than just block abusive messages, I'd want an app that automatically reports them to the moderating process and forwards them on to the police. Anything more than 1 from the same account should result in them being banned and investigated.

Seems that kicking people is every bit as good for you as "wild" swimming - and much more fun! And get a flu shot.

Went to one of the martial arts classes i attended years ago. All the kids there were at junior school when I last went. One is taking her driving test after Christmas. Playing dodgeball - 5 teenagers v 2 Sifus. One had to apologise for not showing respect to a Sifu for calling me an old lady!

I don't know whether I died of the cute, or from my 40 years of regret of not being able to go to the party he invited me to!

It's taken the medical examiner 11 days to decide Pa didn't snuff it from anything dodgy. We may get to register him this week! Can't do much without a green form and a death certificate.

I also found these of a chap I met in Manchester in 1985 and his mate. I wonder whatever happened to them in the last 40 years.

Just looked through 40 years of photos. These are the only ones I have of Pa dancing. Leeds Festival, probably 1985.

Pa's choice of kilt pins. I gave him the boat. It was one of our shared passions. He didn't get into Dartmouth because was colour blind. I didn't get to apply because I was a girl.

This was 2 weeks ago!
Today I have searched the house for a jacket, cleaned a kilt and tie, been to the new Aldi, emptied the junk from the car, done 2 loads of laundry & looked at a shed load of photos. Need to sort out my kit for training tomorrow and round up all the bits to take to Bro's.
Busy day. Hung up the washing, cleaned the bathroom, cleaned and refilled the bird feeders, shopped, emptied all the unknowns out of the freezer to make room for more identifiable items, filled the food waste bin, made chilli, watched ST:SNW. Just need to sort out kit for tomorrow and eat tea.

Every single pleat here has been hand sewn. At the waist they are about 2cm wide, but they curve outwards over the hips. Inside the pleats are about 10-12 cm wide. Across the back of the kilt, the pattern of the tartan matches almost perfectly, held in place by a hessian lining round the hips.

Pa's slightly more well known cousin. No mention here of the fact that his sculptress wife Mitzi designed the BAFTA award.

Bro has finally uncovered several boxes of my books I've been asking him about since Ma & Pa moved in 2000!
Mitten the Kitten, Little nose, Jennings and The Naughtiest Girl in the School! 🥳
Many of these were bought at 5p a week from the school book club.

This must be not long after he was commissioned in the TA. I suspect from the cap badge it was while he was in the Northamptonshires, before he went back to Sheffield and the Royal Engineers .
Pa back row, 6th from left.

Looking for a box of photos, which may be under my desk, but I've come across assorted treasures, including Grandpa's and his Pa's passports. They both worked for the railway and travelled widely.
Then we have what I suspect may be Pa's school tennis club. Pa front row 4th from right.

I have a bag of Pa's ties. Deciding which he's going to wear is a combination of which ones we want to keep and which needs least cleaning. Fortunately I have a friend who knows how to clean anything, so egg stains are not a problem.

Due to intervening life issues, 2 wks on most of my smart devices are still not connected. All of this could have been solved by Vodafone giving customers some basic information prior to switching. The main ones being that you can't change settings before the account goes live & password rules.
Switched broadband today. Major mistake. Do not go with Vodafone. In >20 years of BB use, I've never had such issues in changing provider. I now have to drive 15 miles to find a real person to sort it out. I am extremely NOT happy.

Pa died last week. His hobby was Scottish dancing. I asked him recently if he wanted to be buried in his kilt, to which he replied that would be a waste and we should sell them. However, his last journey will be in the kilt he made himself 50 years ago because he couldn't afford to buy one.

From the days when it was pretty much expected that students would smoke. I'm wondering whether the BMet students cast these themselves as part of some practical experiment.

The square one lived on our mantlepiece and held assorted pins, needles and other household necessities.
