Middle class woman of a certain age. Knows how to deal with stupid people.

I don't know whether I died of the cute, or from my 40 years of regret of not being able to go to the party he invited me to!

I also found these of a chap I met in Manchester in 1985 and his mate. I wonder whatever happened to them in the last 40 years.

Just looked through 40 years of photos. These are the only ones I have of Pa dancing. Leeds Festival, probably 1985.

Pa's choice of kilt pins. I gave him the boat. It was one of our shared passions. He didn't get into Dartmouth because was colour blind. I didn't get to apply because I was a girl.

Every single pleat here has been hand sewn. At the waist they are about 2cm wide, but they curve outwards over the hips. Inside the pleats are about 10-12 cm wide. Across the back of the kilt, the pattern of the tartan matches almost perfectly, held in place by a hessian lining round the hips.

These are absolutely some of my prized possessions. When I first saw My Fair Lady, my ambition was to have a library like Professor Higgins, with all my kids' books on the lower shelves, working upwards.
Do you have this? Just one I turned up earlier. There's a boxful under the stairs somewhere.

Pa's slightly more well known cousin. No mention here of the fact that his sculptress wife Mitzi designed the BAFTA award.

Bro has finally uncovered several boxes of my books I've been asking him about since Ma & Pa moved in 2000!
Mitten the Kitten, Little nose, Jennings and The Naughtiest Girl in the School! 🥳
Many of these were bought at 5p a week from the school book club.

This must be not long after he was commissioned in the TA. I suspect from the cap badge it was while he was in the Northamptonshires, before he went back to Sheffield and the Royal Engineers .
Pa back row, 6th from left.

Looking for a box of photos, which may be under my desk, but I've come across assorted treasures, including Grandpa's and his Pa's passports. They both worked for the railway and travelled widely.
Then we have what I suspect may be Pa's school tennis club. Pa front row 4th from right.

Pa died last week. His hobby was Scottish dancing. I asked him recently if he wanted to be buried in his kilt, to which he replied that would be a waste and we should sell them. However, his last journey will be in the kilt he made himself 50 years ago because he couldn't afford to buy one.

From the days when it was pretty much expected that students would smoke. I'm wondering whether the BMet students cast these themselves as part of some practical experiment.

The square one lived on our mantlepiece and held assorted pins, needles and other household necessities.

View out of my current office window. Points to anyone who can name the film, a scene of which was filmed here more than 25 years ago.

Bonus points if you can name the local artist who managed to include the ridge line of the cream #notashed in one of his artworks.

French Alps 1980, the day my O level results came out. Bro was almost 18, I was just 15.

Pa, Ma, Granny & Grandpa (Pa's side). I suspect this was a Ladies' Night at Grandpa's lodge. Most likely 1958, as Ma had her wedding dress altered to wear for other occasions.

Pa visiting London when Ma was doing her PGCE in 57-58. Always wear a hat when you go out!

I'm staying at my brother's at the moment and working in his study. Just found this photo of Bro when he was ickle.

Every bit as miserable today - I don't think there was any point when I was outside and it wasn't at least muzzling - but twice as much power generated!

This is what happens when I log in to the Vodafone account I set up last week. Every time.
Everything they do works through the website or app. If I have registered and set up a password, how can it not work? I got a text this morning saying contact them if I have an issue. But it's impossible

What a grey day!

I worked for the college for 12 years. We seemed to change colours more often than I changed offices (I was in 6 different rooms over 3 sites).

Tidying up! I found this from one of my very first groups of apprentices in 2007. The Maths teacher was off for a term and I had to get them though Key Skills. I told them I'm not a Maths teacher and I like Maths, but I got that they didn't. They all passed their exams and their apprenticeships.

My first ever fibre pile jacket. I think I had it in 1978/9 and wore it pretty much constantly, with or without a cagoule, until I finished school. Shipmate were a Sheffield company, down the road from us. It just about still fits as is used for gardening when it's cold.
