This please. It doesn't have to be elaborate, just hearing "I like this" or "this is so cute" really is nice and makes my day! I don't know how or why people started thinking it was annoying or insincere to give compliments but it's not. Artists like knowing if people resonate with things we make.

“Listen to what the audience wants.”

Now don’t get me wrong: If there’s a plot hole or the pacing feels off, and your readers point it out?
Valid. Important. Fix it.
