It doesn’t “resemble” a Nazi symbol. It *is* a Nazi symbol (which he is reportedly to have acknowledged by telling people “This is my Totenkopf”). Worse, it isn’t just any Nazi symbol, it is the one used by the SS officers running the concentration camps.

Historic buildings usually have a thorough review. Knowing the vintage of the demolished part of the structure and historical significance, and where are the plans? The permits? I don't get it. Ask any architect how difficult that process is.
