"Freedom" has always had the same meaning to white Christian conservatives.
I always take the opportunity to remind people that the "don't tread on me" guy ... wanted to be left alone to tread on OTHERS in peace.

I mean, they're taking money from him, fine, but what I'm saying is: This doesn't sound like a punishment that was specifically indicated for any specific offense, and ordered by a military judge.
It sounds like "some shit they're doing b/c they can".

The way the press is treating chatbots, like they have agency and they “know” things all of a sudden, crossed the line recently from dumb and obsequious to something else entirely. Treating them as alive and making conscious decisions is an almost religious belief. It won’t age well.

Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I have a lot of respect for the Knives Out movies just as an exercise in people making solid B+ level entertainment where everyone seems to be enjoying the experience without it needing it to win Oscar’s or make 3 billion dollars. It’s like going to a good steakhouse.
