Although I don't owe anyone anything, I'd like to say I apologize for how long the new Finding Subtext episode is taking. I took this year off college to seek creative fulfillment, and I was hoping this meant I could release more. I'm completely re-imagining my entire production workflow... (1/?)

... Although I may stick with CopperCube, as Unreal is quite a lot to learn. I appreciate y'all for being so patient. I hope the quality is worth it <3 (5/5)

... Between 2024-2025 my game was made in an open source game engine named CopperCube. The new Finding Subtext video is mostly rendered in it too. While I'm committed to supporting open source, CopperCube is soo dated and limiting I'm now porting everything into Unreal and hoping for the best. (4/5)

... Hybridizing development (making videos in a game engine so development for one project still benefits the other) has been helpful but also taken a lot of time to figure out. In the past 6 months I've tried over 10 different game engines... (3/?)

... Plus I'm re-launching Finding Subtext itself with a new website, video style, two new limited series, and (hopefully) different branding. At the same time, I've been solo-developing a video game since 2018. I cancelled that game in April, but lowkey couldn't let it go so here are... (2/?)

Remind me to never try making a 2hr video again omfg (I’ll totally go back to making long ass videos immediately afterwards bc I learn nothing)

Anyone have good resources on free or cheap 3D models with permissive licensing terms? Long shot I know. I’m fighting for my life to get this video done on time, and can no longer justify making everything myself 😭

I said I smoked but I actually just vape so yeah probably lol

How would y’all feel if I resorted to using genAI for a three sec shot in a nearly two hour video? I can’t get a specific animation working, but I can’t scrap it either. Would y’all rather it look REALLY bad and out of place? I’m leaning towards letting it be really jarring as-is but I’m curious.

Depending on where you live, all people are eligible for Covid vaccines. However, if you live in a state that doesn’t guarantee access (most people do), just say you smoke and have ADHD. Both are official reasons to get vaccinated.

btw one of the conditions that makes you eligible for a covid shot rn is being a smoker (present or former). I would never suggest fibbing for any reason of course but in theory it would be pretty hard for a random pharmacist to disprove that their patient was a former smoker

Have woke people stopped using the term “toxic masculinity?” If so, that further erodes my faith in society. I genuinely cannot understand how people think it means “masculinity is toxic” and not “a type of masculinity which is toxic.” The word “toxic” is a specifier, not a label. I don’t get it.

The best part is when they disable their comments too. Like protect your peace and whatnot, but why post if you don’t want anyone to understand what you’re saying?

I understand the literacy crisis exists and we shouldn’t expect every social media post to be legible to everyone. But some of y’all’s posts could really use even a morsel context. I’m chronically online but can’t figure out the basic topic of sooo many posts on here.

They’re all so obviously traumatized. In case it wasn’t transparent enough, their touted cure for depression is being so busy you don’t have time for thoughts.

This is doing numbers on social media right now and it's so depressing how people truly yearn for this shit and want to preserve that feeling indefinitely like a mausoleum of false memories.

I wonder how many days we got until the right somehow blames trans people for this.

Apparently, the guy who shot up the Mormon church in Michigan before burning it down?

He Was named Thomas Sanford. He was an Iraq vet.

Here's him, here's his truck

Let's see how the gop manages to blame the left for this.
White man with a beard, dressed in camouflage holding a child. The child is also in camo and holding a dead duck, presumably this was a hunting trip GMC pickup truck with 2 large American flags attached to it.

I would love to be part of the conversation on MSNBC related to the Kimmel story and it's chilling effects on first amendment, but unfortunately I was terminated by MSNBC for stating that "hateful thoughts lead to hateful words which lead to hateful actions".
