My favorite way to disentangle this fear and disgust is to slowly introduce cute habits that spiders have to arachnophobic friends. (The entirety of jumping spiders, spiders grooming their little feets like cats, tarantulas bulldozing their enclosures, etc.)

I'll slowly be uploading all of my #art #tutorials here, but for now have my newest one!

This one specifically covers deer/two-toed artiodactyla but can be applied to other animals too. See my replies to this post to see more!

Bones and muscles are the bread and butter of anatomy. These shapes can be less noticeable when covered with fur, but without them you have nothing. Below, I’ll show an image of the anatomy, a drawing of it, and how I personally simplify the forms.... Proportions vary based on each species. Keep an eye for different bone lengths and angles."

Once my base shapes have been made, I will usually draw diamonds or triagles to more accurately represent the joints.
Draw shapes with the understanding that they’re wrong and will be fixed.
Life isn’t all perfect ovals. Try to include thickness and variances in your forms!.....The way someone may simplify the form may differ from the Actual way they sketch the form in their art. How you eventually do it may/should differ!"

Seeing the Bill Watterson originals full of pencil lines of stuff that didn’t work, scuffs the eraser didn’t pick up, white out galore and more was something I needed to see to remind myself that nothing is perfect the first go and tweaks need to be made and you’re allowed to try again.

Extension of this statement: Splatoon is a game that revolves around painting; the amount of matches I've lost because my team has 0 paint on the map and thus can't move/the enemy team has all the room in the world to move. Paint capable weps. focusing on kills instead of making sure team can move 😔
