Germany: Based on the communicated (preliminary obviously) mobile data traffic volumes for 2025, it seems as if both Telekom and Vodafone closed in on O2 in 2025.

Negotiations over: 357 @elisaoyj.bsky.social employees to lose their jobs - of which 347 based in Finland. Slightly lower than the 400 indicated before negotiations. elisa.com/corporate/ne... Elisa was probably the last Nordic operator that initiated a downsizing program, nobody is immune it seems.

MVNOs have a tiny market share in Finland & Sweden but hold ~10% of the mobile subs base in Norway & Denmark.

The share would likely be less if we count $: That level of detail is available for Norway (6%) & Sweden (4%).

There's not yet any "Fibre Road" in Denmark although that infrastructure is today as key as e.g. electricity and telephony that have plenty of named roads named in Denmark.

Finland: GlobalConnect continues its journey to become a pure wholesale provider by selling most of its consumer retail fibre customers (10k) to Telia.

Italian telcos are now colour labelling 5G and fixed broadband based on definitions by regulator AGCOM - here some examples: Highest 5G speed and availability is labelled green - and fibre is also labelled green

The 1800 MHz frequency auction in Sweden ends on its first day. 25 MHz to Net4Mobility (Tele2/Telenor) for 466 MSEK and 10 MHz to Telia for 186 MSEK. 3 Sweden participated too, but didn't get any frequencies.

Sweden: Telia was the MNO with the lowest share of traffic on 5G in the first half of 2025 after leadership in 2H 2023. Telenor leading, but its network mate Tele2 has a much lower share. '3' second highest.

Putting all Nordic mobile providers into one chart - for mobile consumer satisfaction - shows just how low the satisfaction is with the Swedish main brands. Situation worsened in 2025. But Sweden is also winning - with Vimla and Fello. Data from EPSI/Svenskt kvalitetsindex.

After failed 4th MNO entry, government pressure on prices, and severe security breaches, South Korean 5G usage reaches a new high in August with 33.4 GB per 5G subscription. Never ever has the total mobile data traffic grown faster YoY than it did in August.
