The fun has been REAL, and today I have to go back home 😭

I really wish I had dedicated a folder on my phone for all of the ugly and stupid and ridiculously expensive things Star Trek has come out with these last few years. It’s not just about the damn boots…it’s about all of their merchandise (or lack thereof)

Erin’s comment is fine, but you aren’t hearing the larger issue. There is no “less expensive” option. And maybe I want to wear them too, but still don’t have Fluevog money. They don’t market to the working class…just people who want to blow large amounts of money.

So much. My brain only has processing space for short-term bitching 🤣

But she supports him 🙃

You can interview me as a disgruntled fan
flutemusik.bsky.social
Im over the merchandising targeting only affluent fans for the cool things, and offering only “cheaply made but still expensive for what it is” stuff that we can actually afford
flutemusik.bsky.social
Oh period, Uhura’s boots would be the best one of any
flutemusik.bsky.social
🤣 I’m everywhere (not really, but yes, I am here)

My thought process is like this: Star Wars licenses premium super high end lightsabers. They also license cheap toy ones that are sold at Walmart. There’s a market for BOTH
flutemusik.bsky.social
No, and I’m going to keep reminding them of the market they keep leaving out
flutemusik.bsky.social
I’ve been preaching this gospel for several years now
flutemusik.bsky.social
Not the point. The point is Trek LOVES to get this premium shit and ignore that regular (or gasp, even poor) fans might want to have something close to screen accurate. They constantly cater to the rich. It’s gross
flutemusik.bsky.social
I am wearing a clearance pair from TJ Maxx, I hear you
flutemusik.bsky.social
The style isn’t groundbreaking like the SNW was. Those were really unique
flutemusik.bsky.social
That’s why it doesn’t NEED to be Fluevog and they could have an economical option that isn’t them and isn’t leather
flutemusik.bsky.social
I like these ones better than the SNW ones, but I like a buckle or two and the snub toe, but I agree on point 2 and believe you on point 3
flutemusik.bsky.social
Dear Star Trek, yes, I like the new Academy boots by Fluevog. I would wear them a lot. No, I won’t pay 2/3 of my rent money for a pair. Can’t you even try to find a faux leather option for the more budget-conscious among Trekkies?

Signed,
Probably 90% of Trekkies who can’t drop $600+ for BOOTS

Tbh, the official Moopsy plushies look bad. Their little side hair should be stuffed and 3-dimensional, not just a piece of material sewn on the side of a round head
While plush. Looks kind of like a guinea pig. Actually a creature from Star Trek Lower Decks called Moopsy

Hey guys, my middle child told me they were feeling defeated. They had been very sure about going to college for graphic design after graduation (they are a senior), but yesterday told me probably not because AI is taking over everything. Please send encouragement to them to do the thing ❤️

I also hope you know that response wasn’t a disrespectful one. The sweetie is the Bribble (not a disrespectful “sweetie”). I just read it and thought…

Alt: a man in a suit and tie is cringing in an office .

They had already abandoned Prodigy so absolutely no thought was given to that sweetie
