So as we drive back to pick up Mango from an avian specialist vet 3 hours away, we have an update. What's been wrong with Mango is this:
They found that she has a heart murmur and almost certainly has heart disease. It is genetic. It is treatable, but not curable. She will need to be on 3

My frozen order arrived today, so Cecil got a mouse and a chick cos I missed his last feeding. He takes 100 years to eat rodents, and literally seconds to eat chicks, but they’re not an ideal staple so moderation is key. Thankfully he’s not a picky ball python!

I’m at friends for Friendsgiving and I wanted to check on the chickens, I opened the camera and called them and the whole flock came running to see where I was 🥺 my poor lil babies, I gotta get a treat dispenser for them now

Snow got into the corner of bird mansion, but for some reason when I went out there most of them were in the snow anyway???? Weirdos (it’s not too bad in there despite the chill, when the sun comes out it’s amazing in there)

I know each bird will leave me heart broken, but the time spent together is worth it.

It’s nice out so I guess I’m forcing myself to do things outside. The chances of it being nice out again before April are very slim. Sometimes I wonder why I live in the upper Midwest and then I’m reminded we don’t have many natural disasters and I just have to sigh in agreement.
