I am saving the rest of this thread for a nice long read this weekend, because I know it is going to be a doozy.

My corollary to the last re-post is that some folks go all-in on “but think of the children” when what they mean is “but I want to buy this and it’s too expensive.”

as tired as i am of all the $600 lego sets for adults, it seems like a lot of people *only* hear about those sets and just assume that lego has completely priced kids out of the hobby. they still make plenty of $10-$20 sets in the lines for kids. those just don't make headlines when they're revealed

I have to say, they really nailed the aesthetic of the Average Zelda Enjoyer.

I'd say it's hard to walk back the optics of shooting a suburban mom in the face, lobbing a concussion grenade at a toddler, and sending a bunch of paramilitary goons door to door asking for papers.

I have seen some incredibly dopey things that "the graphics team" had to "mockup" because of some ridiculous request by the sales department or senior leadership, that never got outside the building. The difference at CBS is that staff hates what's going on there and will leak every chance they get.

Last week, I got a corrections request for a story I didn't write, on a publication I don't write for. It sent me down a very strange rabbit hole involving a mysterious content publisher. There's a lot I don't understand, but here's what I know:

This makes me so mad I could spit blood. Look at this shit, man. These are your neighbors. This lady in scrubs going into or just getting out of a grueling 12-hour shift to pay her rent like the rest of us. This is a sin and it’s coming for you if you don’t fight back now.
Stunning photos from Minneapolis, including this one by John Locher for the Associated Press. www.theatlantic.com/photography/...

“Like hashtags, but for stocks” has a real “ALF is back, in pog form” energy.

Just read DC KO #3… and Joker won the fight with Red Hood? The ending of that fight issue was pretty obtuse.

Arkeis does some fun stuff. We just finished chapter five tonight. The room box in front slides around inside the larger room box. #boardgames

With Arcs and Oath leaving Leder Games to be published by a new company (by the board games' creators,) I think they should now add a letter to each game's name.

Don’t worry, Lego has an affordable option for Pokémon fans.

I want to see somebody do a comparison of the Lego and Mega Blox Pokémon sets, pieces and build approach, from an engineering perspective.

One of my favorite anime things is when you get a new intro and there’s an impossibly cool one second shot of four or five dangerous characters you’ve never seen before and then they all turn out to be tough-talking jobbers that the main cast disposes of in two episodes max.

Now, my automatic cat feeder does not have a seconds count on its clock, but today I did a verbal three two one countdown for my cats and absolutely nailed it.

I'm sure the real pyramid heads can help me out on this, but I just finished Silent Hill Furry, which I really liked, but why exactly is this in the Silent Hill franchise.

Grimly funny to do *this* immediately after the captured CBS News’ goofy statement about “rule of law” and the world’s “last best hope.”
