Pulled from the Admiralty board of inquiry into the loss of HMS Coventry, diagrams of the damage and subsequent loss of stability as she suffered rapid free flooding. It noted in peacetime, damage like this from collision would have also sunk her.

Tomorrow marks the anniversary of the attack on USS Stark. There were many parallels with the loss of HMS Sheffield in terms of operations, but her ships company rallied, despite critical damage and loss of life, and saved the ship.

Interesting timing for a mission and obvious centre of interest. And tough choice for the regional air defence commander. Go EMCON and risk losing your recognised air picture, or stay active and gift the Combat Sent data.

All reports about attacks in Venezuela appear to be originating from one source, the Miami Herald, so I’d wait out tbh. No NOTAMS issued yet. Seen nothing to confirm heavy GPS jamming that is being reported off the coast.

Damage to HMS Glamorgan post Exocet strike 12th June. Of note is the MRS3 director which appears to have tracked the missile until impact. The missile possibly ricocheted off the round dome, activating delay fuze, before skidding along deck and detonating, blowing a hole down. /1

Tigers were beautiful looking when they first came out. I recall being told, as a bundle of joy a few months old and teething, I received a dab of rum on the gums down the seaman’s mess on the Blake to stop the screaming😂
