Slowly rebuilding my favourite bit of my twitter profile here, to make me feel more at home.
These are pictures I took and like having pinned to my profile.
Sun rising behind Chester's Foregate and its famous clock Very early sunrise over Chester's Foregate, quite far away, with a bench and a bollard in the foreground, throwing shadows Sun setting over Chester's canal with a squat gas storage tower cast over a rwd horizon Chester's Curzon Park North avenue in the Autumn, with road in perspective running to the centre of the picture, surrounded by large colourful trees

... and the insights into the reality of it, at the same time efficiently coordinated and shambolically woke ("you're invading my space!", "there are no hands on the clock because they are not needed"), all of it combine for a much smarter movie than it first appears to be. 2/2

Just watched it, not what I expected, but so much better for it. The casual use of 2025 America's polive state as a background, the notion of modern day American revolutionaries (which begs the question - why hasn't an armed revolutionary rebellion risen yet in the USA!?).. 1/2

Not at all what I was expecting but thoroughly enjoyed it!

Will be watching One Battle After Another at the Picture House later today.
A more sociable / less sociopathic Frenchman would ask friends to join him but I much prefer going on my own as there's always the risk they'd enjoy the movie differently than me and ruin the aftermath with their comments.

She's running for President !?!?

Strange travel log that one. 2 decent establishments but Brook St to lower Bridge St requires crossing the entire city while ignoring some of its best bits.
Next time I'd suggest you go the opposite way, through Grosvenor park.
Or, as you reach Frodsham st, take a right towards the Cathedral?

we know them to be bullies, and are desperate for politicians who are not willing to be bullied. @zackpolanski.bsky.social and his team are so far doing very well sticking to their argument and not getting distracted by the bullies' ad-homimen and what aboutery, which is all they know.

no, he's apparently hard-left

flaggstång by Ikea - easily stored displays of racism.

I've always thought I'd be happy either way. Wasn't desperate for fatherhood (unlike some) or dead against it (unlike others).
Landed myself 2 great kids, but it's terrifying how little control you have over it, it wouldn't take much to have to care for little shits and nowt to justify the hassle.

"adopted" in visible air quotes. It has been pushed left right and centre, mostly where not needed or value adding.

love this!

At the end of the summer season Cheltenham Lido drains down the pool and re-fills for winter cold water swimming. But before that, they open it to dogs for the weekend. It's Mabel's favourite day of the year.

Six out of eight of the largest mass-movement protests in US history have happened since 2017. You wouldn't know this from most media reporting, and you sure af wouldn't know this from the way either major party has reacted.

Typical 'projection'

noiw that bugs me - if the national party is GPEW, you should be GPCWaC!

You might have heard of 'dark kitchens' when a row of sheds in a car park churn out food for Deliveroo. They're unpopular and low margin. So the next big thing in London food is 'host kitchens' where local pubs, restaurants and kebab shops cook for big brands. www.londoncentric.media/p/host-kitch...
Why your next upmarket Deliveroo might be made by your local kebab shop
