Collage with two photos showing the artist Frazzle from Germany, and a drawing of an anthropomorphic rat sitting at a digital art workstation, chugging down a can of an energizing lemonade while holding a stylus. #introduction #furry #furryart #furries #art

And another birthday present for a good friend in Canada, who is going through a rough time. Sometimes, you just need the Trout of Vengeance. It helps. Happy Birthday, Nancy, and hang in there! 💪💪💪

Freelance illustration gigs drying up. Ad agencies using Midjourney instead of hiring human artists. Costume design turned over to AI wholesale. Good work vanishing.

These are the stories of working visual artists, who describe losing jobs, wages, and hope as their clients and bosses embrace AI.
Artists are losing work, wages, and hope as bosses and clients embrace AI
Visual artists, illustrators and graphic designers share their stories about how AI is being used to lower wages, degrade work and even replace it altogether, in this installment of AI Killed My Job.

This is why I sit & draw/sell toony stuff at Furry conventions since such a long time. Artists, fans, friends from all over the world, like Brazil, Israel, Malaysia, Australia... Beign a "tour guide" through Berlin at times for folks visiting for a con, too. In times like these, this is healing.

A little present for my nephew, who has a soft spot for tornados.
Text says "Hey Kalle, hard to get those things wrapped up into a package, but... happy birthday!"

You can have a pizza IN the movie theatre, watching 90s TNMT?

You, sir, have found perfection. It is hard to come by, but you have mastered it!

Have fun! 😄

Das mit dem Verdampfen und als Herbstgewitter wiederkommen klingt vielversprechend, das sollte ich vielleicht mal antesten. Danke für den Tipp!

Hey Portzebie, just wanted to take the opportunity to say how happy I am to see you being around, creative and strong, rocking those cons. Seems like a lifetime ago that I saw your drawings for the first time, and they haven't stopped making me smile eversince. Hope you have great sales, cheers!

I remember when AIDS came up as topic in Germany back in the 80s, a sinister threat looming on the horizon. It later became a normal part of (sex) life, always present in the back of the head - always use protection. That I live to see this in my lifetime, the dawn and potential end of this... wow!

P.S. letters to bases throughout Europe, not throughout Germany. If I remember correctly, one sent to a hub in Belgium must have found its way over to Jacksonville. The reply came in 1996. Feels like on a whole different planet. But a good reminder.

I was grown-up, in the Army myself, when the answer came - if I still wanted those. They even had an older machine that had that vintage debossed look. I wear them since, as a reminder what you can achieve if you hang in there long enough, even today. They came from Jacksonville. Cheers!

Back in the 80s, as a "TopGun"/jets-fascinated kiddo, I wanted nothing more than a pair of dog tags. Without internet, no shops for that in Germany, I sent letters to USAF bases, throughout Germany, with the help of my dad. Years later, one letter reached a Naval Aviator base in Jacksonville. -->

Since it's that time of year again... enjoy some art from the most American non-American I know, @frazzle.bsky.social!

This is probably the best illustration of what being an illustrator these days feels like. For depicting being a 2D animator though, the little guy would probably have to be on fire, while someone is playing "Last Christmas" for ten hours straight. In Chinese. At twice the regular speed. Backwards.

Bei uns die selbe Strategie, mit nur einer Abweichung: Wir haben die Geschmacksrichtung Erdbeere, nicht Himbeere. 😁

-- Even if it is hard, or better, especially as it is hard: Hang in there. You are a wonderful and talented person, and you have friends all around the globe who listen, and who are rooting for you. You got this. Let's hang in there together, all of us. Better days will come. They must. 💪💪💪

Same here. Feels like wading through a swamp. Every step feels like a whole journey. And you spend too much energy on just keeping one haunting question out of your head: "Why even keep moving?".

It makes more sense if you apply a survival mindset to this, like you would apply f.ex. when crashed--

Thanks for being some of the good ones, both of you. ❤️‍
I am glad about anyone who wants to keep creating, rather than giving this process away to the robots, for quick & cheap reactions.

we're working quite late,
Drink up, me hearties, yo ho.

We design perfect logos by daytime,
by night draw foxes who fornicate,
Drink up, me hearties, yo ho.

Yo ho, Yo ho, an artist's life for me!"
