Like so many with chronic pain-combined with-other-subjective-symptoms, I detest that standard 1-10 scale that you posted above. I recall one person that was being persistently pressed by a PT to give her pain a numerical rating finally screaming, "FINE!!! IT'S A TEN!!!!!"

For my science communication stuff I've collected field reports from WWI where soldiers with protruding bones or "cleaver-like" torso injuries didn't report any pain as a result from the wound, but still winced when the medic messed up the IV needle insertion. Pain can be weird, y'all.

I heard predictions of shortages a while back but it turned out that stores had stocked up in anticipation of the tariffs so it depends on how long those stockpiles last. I have no idea.
