Friends Center's office building opened in 1975--50 years ago!

This fall, we'll celebrate our 50th year as the Quaker hub for peace & justice in Philadelphia with a series of in-person trainings on nonviolent action.

The Flushing Remonstrance was a 1657 petition by Dutch colonists in protest of religious intolerance in the New Netherland colony that targeted religious minorities and including Quakers. None of the signers were Friends but they resisted their government in pursuit of religious tolerance. (1/2)
