"The irony is not lost on us."

The Oglala Sioux Tribe in Minnesota says that ICE arrested 3-4 of its tribal citizens & is holding them in immigrant detention.

This an outrageous and insulting violation of U.S. law & the U.S. government's treaty with the tribe. They must be released immediately.

📣"Military troops and violent federal agents do not belong in our communities."

Congress must push back against President Trump's authoritarian abuse of military force -- both at home and abroad.
BREAKING: President Trump has threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act and deploy the military to Minneapolis.

This is another dangerous attempt to sow fear and turn the cities we love into places where people feel afraid to leave their homes.

The Trump administration's suspension of immigrant visa processing is just the latest attempt to virtually gut our entire immigration system and turn it into one that's overtly racist and focused on harming communities, tearing apart families, and eliminating all legal pathways for immigration.

Last night's 50-50 Senate vote that blocked the passage of the Venezuela War Powers Resolution is deeply disappointing.

Yet as Sen. Kaine explains, this effort made clear that Pres. Trump does NOT have the support of Congress & the American people to launch a war.

Let's keep up the pressure! 👏

As we grieve the horrifying government violence and send our solidarity to the Iranian people, we must be clear: U.S. military intervention is not the answer.

I worked for ICE and CBP. Our current system makes everyone less safe.
Immigration enforcement is not focused on serious threats. It's become politicized, disconnected from reality and increasingly dangerous for everyone.

As we stand in solidarity with Iranians protesting for their rights & freedoms, we must also speak out against Pres. Trump's threats of U.S. military intervention.

War is not the answer. It will only spur more repression and imperil the lives of civilians in Iran and across the region.
Grieving every life lost in Iran and urging an end to all violence and repression. Congress should act to prevent more senseless wars by the White House and support a path for diplomacy and democracy.
