the beauty of it, imo, is two fold:
1, it doesn't completely nerf everything. if you're not careful you'll still die, so the loop of the game is intact.
2, once you get a successful run you can use the the lil difficulty increasing bounties to just cancel out the bonus

(also I used the God Mode option, where you get a flat 20% damage reduction that increases by 2 every time you die, it's what I did in 1 as well, it's the best "easy mode" in games because it's still quite challenging as intended! Just sayin)

this was my third time fighting him, second time making it to his second health bar (because of course he has one). i was hollering, and now the real Hades 2 begins lol

oh I did my first successful underworld run in Hades 2, used the skull. I like how anticlimactic it was compared to the first game, where I really didn't know what the next beat would be. Here, all the characters have already accepted this isn't the end.
