For a "small town" newspaper the MHN doesn't shy away from addressing the horrid state of Alberta politics. A few years ago they were threatened with a lawsuit by the UCP if they didn't retract an article & issue an apology they stood their ground & the lawsuit never materialized. Truth is truth.
