The UCP’s fall legislative session reveals volumes about what the party really values and what it doesn’t: no rights for teachers and trans folks (Bills 2 and 9) no rights for those who depend on AIMCo investments (Bill 12) but hey, we’ll pay out to aussie coal companies any time. #ableg #abpoli

If the GoA can do this to Albertans so easily why didn't it protect us against the spurious claims of coal companies?
This illustrates just how easily it could have done so rather than entering in to expensive and overly generous settlements to resolve problems the UCP created.

And the #UCP wants these people to manage an Alberta Pension Plan?

And then there were... 14.

Recall petitions have been approved against Glenn Van Dijken, Jackie Lovely, Nathan Neudorf, Jason Stephan and Searle Turton.

That's 14 of the 47 UCP MLAs now facing potential recall.

How would an MLA know which constituents vote in a provincial elections? This information is privileged only to Elections Alberta.

Also, any elector can initiate a recall, irrelevant of whether they vote. UCP wrote this law.

#ableg
Wait WHAT?!?

Dale Nally somehow audited the voting records of Albertans and is using that as a metric for who can initiate recall?

And now all of the applicant statements and member statements have been removed from Elections Alberta?

Fool me once, shame on you.

Fool me 17 times, burn it to the ground.
Instagram’s former head of safety and well-being Vaishnavi Jayakumar testified the company had a “17x” strike policy for accounts that engaged in the trafficking of humans for sex.

“You could incur 16 violations and upon the 17th violation, your account would be suspended"

Wake up Alberta rural municipalities.
Better a wind or solar farm as a going concern rather than dead-beat oil and gas operators that won't pay their taxes or surface lease payments.

💰 Rural Alberta earned $70M in tax revenue from wind & solar in 2025 — funding roads, emergency services & recreation.

But a provincial moratorium has stalled future growth, costing municipalities $84M/year in lost revenue.

We knew the UK press wouldn't understand or properly cover this story, so we did. Thank you for the support!

Let's hear it for the inter library loan system!
I used to handle interlibrary loans for a public library. ILL is a magnificent expression of the idea that readers deserve books, and books deserve readers. It’s libraries everywhere pooling their resources for the benefit of everyone.

Killing IMLS could have killed ILL.

This is great news. 📚

Mr Getson would do well to consider the potential impacts of such lies.

For a sitting MLA to tell the legislature and anyone listening that the Supreme Court of Canada says CSAM is now "OK" puts kids at risk.

He should retract that statement and apologize immediately.

Shane Getson openly lied in the Legislature this week.

He said on multiple occasions that the Supreme Court of Canada had said that possession of Child Sexual Abuse Materials is "OK".

The Supreme Court said no such thing.

Bonkers. On behalf of professional engineers in Alberta, APEGA better be reviewing this too. Problem is that the new Registrar & CEO of APEGA is Paul Wynnyk, who was of course an ADM of Alberta's executive council under, that's right, Premier Danielle Smith. An uncompromised review is unlikely.
