Scheming the future of ATProtoMAD over aperitif at Maria’s local.

It’s great! The bartender told me I have to practice a song.

DID is a great concept ("Decentralized Identifiers")

But its a shame that the most common DID (the one used by Bluesky) is did:plc. And the PLC is centralized

Ironic that the most popular decentralized identifier is centralized.

Structured argumentation tools like @seed.hyper.media are more potent than IRL Conversations.
You achieve deeper, less emotional, and peaceful conversations. Knowledge emerges through the process, resolving disputes harmoniously.
Great for open source software communities!

The question is: how much decentralization must be compromised for the sake of user experience?

The answer is simple: ZERO. We are not compromising!!!

This post by @dustyweb.bsky.social et al is an absolute banger

It has been a major inspiration for our implementation of "web of trust" in @seed.hyper.media

Although, there is a slight mis-representation of Zooko's triangle. I should write about this...

Haha yeah it's "sort-of-Zooko's Easier to Explain Triangle" I guess

We had a debate about it, I find the "human meaningful, decentralized, secure" analysis really hard to explain, because secure is so *vague* there, so I kinda pushed the version that's in there

Glad you like the paper!

We're lucky to have such great foundations as IPFS+libp2p! This greatly accelerated the development of our decentralized publishing system
Seed Hypermedia builds upon the powerful foundations of @ipfs.tech for immutable data storage and auto-archiving

And of course @libp2p.bsky.social powers our networking to enable direct publishing between users on the network (as well as servers)

I wrote a quick note about archiving.

Seed Hypermedia is a Xanalogical system in which every node is an archiver. Our initial goal is creativity, sense, and consensus-making, but it also resulting a great tool for archiving.

I have many open questions!
