The Nintendo and Palworld developer Pocket Pair's legal case is heating up after Nintendo has had two of its three patents in the caae rejected by the Japan Patent Office. The Japan Patent Office cites games such ARK, Monster Hunter 4, Craftopia, a Japanese brower game named Kantai Collection and Pokemon GO as reasons why they have been rejected. This decision isn't final, so Nintendo can presumably appeal against the decision and make amendments.

WayForward has announced today that they are in the midst of developing the next game in the long-running Shantae series. A title for the game has yet to be announced, but the team is knuckling down developing their latest project. Shantae series director Matt Bozon said in a special message to fans that it will be a while before they have anything concrete to share, but that they hope fans look forward to the next chapter.

Nintendo has released two short and sweet commercials for the upcoming Metroid Prime 4: Beyond which is due to be released on 4th December. The marketing campaign for the long awaited game has truly started with the new advert showcasing a new unnamed boss and highlighting the 120fps mode and the sharper visuals when played in 4K resolution. Nintendo Switch Online members can download the Kirby Air Riders: Global Test Ride which will take place on 8th-9th November and 15th-16th November. The event will let you try out Lessons, Air Ride, and City Trial. The Global Test Ride software will be available to download on the Nintendo eShop on Friday, 7th November. Lessons will be playable at anytime, so you can play that when you are waiting for the actual online event to begin.

In today’s Kirby Air Riders Direct presentation, game director Masahiro Sakurai once again shared a deep dive into what players can expect from the wild and unpredictable action the Kirby Air Riders game is bringing to the Nintendo Switch 2 system on Nov. 20. Headlining the presentation were the introduction of the story-driven Road Trip mode and the return of Top Ride, a mode originally introduced in the 2003 Nintendo GameCube game Kirby Air Ride.

Previews of Elden Ring Tarnished Edition on the Nintendo Switch 2 picked up a number of problems mainly stemming from the game's performance on Nintendo's latest system. Now the official From Software account has announced that they have taken the hard decision to delay the release, which was scheduled for this year and it will now be released in 2026. The team at From Software will share more information on the new release date in the near future.

The latest Japanese physical video game software and hardware charts have come through from the team at Famitsu. The best-selling video game was none other than the new mainline Pokemon game Pokemon Legends: Z-A which sold a staggering 1.48 million physical copies. The best-selling video game hardware was the Nintendo Switch 2 which sold 201,684 units, the Switch family sold 23,713 units, the PlayStation 5 family sold 12,085 units, the Xbox Series family sold 188 units, and the PlayStation 4 family sold 23 units.

Nintendo of America has confirmed in a post on X that the engrossing Assassin's Creed Shadows will arrive on the Nintendo Switch 2 on 2nd December. Strangely this wasn't marketed heavily by Ubisoft, but regardless we now know it's definitely coming to the platform. The 2015 hit Fallout 4 is getting an Anniversary Edition and it is heading to the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. The Anniversary Edition is also coming to other platforms and contains the base Fallout 4 game along with its DLC and mods in the form of Creation Club content. It's not clear whether this is Anniversary Edition will include graphical changes, but judging from the trailer is looks very similar to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One original.
