I generally think a lot of bubsy’s trappings are because of its era, people tried so hard with mascot platformers that it’s bound to be the weakest link in a line of rough patches

I think Bubsy games are really only bearable via infinite lives and the sort but I think the first one is the best overall despite its trappings
I see people say 2 is much better but it’s really dull and controls actively worse than the original which, bar the jumping and gliding, wasn’t bad
