Importantly, the authors also contributed to the broader community by making these newly created, standardised openEHR data models freely available through the Clinical Knowledge Manager - fostering transparency, reuse, and further development.
👉 Clinical content modelling strengths:

The clinical content has been governed using the HiGHmed Clinical Knowledge Manager (provided by us here at Ocean Health Systems).

👉 Infection control impact:

SmICS cuts routine infection control task times by up to 81% according to the authors, while offering powerful visualisations of patient movements, contacts, and outbreaks.
👉 openEHR strengths:

In this context, openEHR’s clinical content modelling methodology and its Archetype Query Language (AQL) provide a flexible, semantically rich basis for structuring and querying infection-related data across heterogeneous systems.
A recent study by - among many others - Pascal Biermann, Sarah Ballout, Michael Marschollek, Antje Wulff, introduced SmICS, an openEHR-based infection control system that helps hospitals monitor and respond to nosocomial bacterial clusters more efficiently:

#verdi #streik
Fantastic news! This is a good fit.
See many of the #openEHR models in the Clinical Knowledge Manager at ckm.openehr.org using Snomed CT codes already.
Dranbleiben!

Oh, and I missed lots in this thread, but @yampeku.bsky.social‘s map of the lands and kingdoms of FHIR, openEHR and OMOP (and his work on mappings) certainly was another highlight for me!
Highlight 10: And finally, fireworks and two hours of hardcore London sight-seeing.

That’s a wrap - hope to see everybody at the next @openehr.bsky.social conference!
Highlight 9: Always great to see Jordi Piera present on how Catalonia and also Spain are turned into openEHR strongholds.
