These “Prove I'm a human” tests are now trying to exclude robots ... and colour-blind people.
I can do this one, but it's only going to get worse isn't it?!

I wish UK politicians spoke as clearly, intelligently, and articulately as this.

Just this week, the Belgian PM self-critically remarked in Davos about how naive Europe was to relinquish control of its entire critical infrastructure.

For 48 hours, I had the hope that Europe had finally understood this. Well, Europe might have, the German Merz govt hasn't.

Very shocked, surprised and saddened to read the below.

Rest in peace Flick.
We are deeply saddened by the passing of our council member and friend, Felicia “Flick” Cox, a devoted nurse, mentor and tireless advocate for people in pain. Our thoughts are with her family. Condolences and memories can be shared on Flick’s memorial page: www.online-tribute.com/FeliciaCox

The view from today's office.
Have a feeling it's not going to be a very productive day.

Also, the map shows England and Wales, whereas her comment refers to 'Britain'.
Just want to give a shout out for all the great crime happening in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
It is so strange that crime doesn’t occur where people don’t live.

I wonder whether this video will cause the number of #ASCE2026 registrants to increase.

The university used to send comms by e-mail.
Now, we get an e-mail with a link.
Click, and you're sent to a website, where you need to log in.
If off campus you, in addition, require multi-factor authentication.

I've given up.
It was probably something about comms now being more accessible anyway.

There once was a chap who at Yuletide,
Logged off with a grin, and decried:
“No BlueSky for me,
Just mince pies and tea.
I’ll scroll again once Christmas has died.

Merry Christmas. See you in January.

My paper for today's @uoaepi.bsky.social Literature Review Meeting.
The paper argues adding slang could boost youth engagement, otherwise the future of academic prose might be skibidi by 2048.

Interesting the debate didn't shift the proportion of Yeses, it just converted some of the Noes.

According to ChatGPT ...
AI is NOT the future of health and social science research
[but it is a] foundational tool that will increasingly shape how research is conducted.
"Is AI the future of health and social science research?"

Before the debate:
Yes 48%
No 36%
Don't know 16%

After the debate:
Yes 48%
No 46%
Don't know 6%

Very happy and relieved to see nearly 50% voting no in the final poll!

I don't know, there might be something in this. I wonder if it could apply to universities as well.
I might start marking only half the exams.
Genius! The solution to healthcare costs has been staring us in the face for years and we all missed it!
Just stop seeing and treating patients - brilliant! 🫣

We published a meta-analysis on the prevalence of #PsoriaticArthritis.
Disappointed to see that a letter asserting that we'd omitted 4 papers from Africa is now published, while our rebuttal (showing that these papers provided NO relevant data) is still only available online.

I'm just going to come out and say it:
I'm not 100% convinced this is a good idea.
