It will be a rough argument. All ears will be on Justice Gorsuch (he wrote Bostock v. Clayton Cty recognizing sex discrimination in Title VII included gender identity disc--but he remained silent in arguments in Skrmetti and signed onto the opinion allowing bans on minor's gender-affirming care)

This morning (9CT/10ET), the Supreme Court is hearing arguments in two trans rights cases. Do bans on trans girls playing girls sports violate Title IX of the Education Amendments? Do they violate the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment? (Or are trans people protected by the EP at all?)

The pattern of errors (in the thread) have also involved people who are criminalized for their pregnancy outcomes, including at least two people who had open criminal cases at the time. It’s ok to realize, reporting on abortion laws does not mean you know how to report on criminalization in reality.

This error has since been corrected, with little fanfare, but many others have not. And because people will ask: It’s not other reporters’ jobs to flag mistakes to the proprietor, especially when they could be avoided by hiring an editor. I’m also told the owner has ignored past correction flags

An anti-abortion prosecutor wrongfully charged a woman with fetal homicide after an alleged medication abortion. State dropped the charge, but only after news outlets published her mugshot and claimed she faced life in prison.
