PhD’ing in law at the EUI | Researching land and forest governance, interested in Global South epistemologies, transnational law, int’l envt’l and property law
Very timely & necessary piece that asks the questions we need to respond to more than ever in these troubling times.

On the 15-16 at the @EUI Revital Madame & Laurène Lecozanet are organising a workshop on complicity & responsibility in academia, and I’ll be on a panel!

I was meant to visit Columbia next month but I cancelled today. In this letter I state my reasons.

Strong solidarity with everyone at Columbia affected by these appalling repressive measures!

Thank you @gatybiyo.bsky.social for the invitation to serve as a discussant for @ivy180.bsky.social’s wonderful lecture on Re-imagining EU Law and Institutions.
I learned a lot and was inspired by Professor Solanke’s important work on decolonising EU law.
They say don’t meet your inspirations but sometimes they turn out to be better than you expected!Thank you to Pr Solanke @ivy180.bsky.social & @nozizwe.bsky.social for accepting my invitation to come to the EUI for BHM to talk about how we can reimagine EU law and institutions.

At this fantastic event today, Mackda Ghebremariam Tesfau reminded us that racism – not just authoritarianism –is at the heart of all the far-right movements gaining power today
Black Marxism and racial capitalism

This piece raises very interesting points but I can’t help but feel cynical at the always over focus on young men’s feelings. To me, the left has always also focused a lot on working on making young men feel important and included. Cool but what about young women and non-binary folks though?

As the sociologist Stuart Hall once wrote, “Those who produce the discourse also have the power to make it true.” Journalists, charged with reporting on and translating what is happening for the masses, must not become entrapped by this use of DEI as interchangeable with civil rights and/or Black.

(On croît rêver)
