This is why it was so important/exciting for me to get to work with the great @gailsimone.bsky.social on UXM and bring the most authentic voice we could to Gambit inside the existing framework.

It's also why I don't want his Cajun heritage stripped from him in adaptations like some have suggested.
For those who don't know, Cajuns as an ethnicity, only exist because in 1755 the English entered Acadia in Nova Scotia and burned villages, destroyed property, and round up more than 80% of the local Acadians, forced them on boats, broke up families, and sent them out to sea.

Thousands died.

January has been a BEAR.

Penciled 25 pages and inked 35.

Serious question:

Is anybody who looks at this genuinely shocked that it’s not real, or can we all see the uncanny nonsense in it?

What a boost to see this while inking the last handful of pages for issue 32.

Like a warm hug in the middle of all of this madness going on.

Thank you, Gail!
Okay, so this morning, I am at deadlines and do not have time to read a comic, right?

But then @ryannorth.ca sends me his first issue of FLASH (#31) with art by my favorite, @gavinguidry.bsky.social, whom you may remember drew that beautiful GAMBIT issue of Uncanny X-Men.

Spoiler: I read it.

Got an early look at Flash #31 and damn, what a fun read. @ryannorth.ca fits Flash's tone so well, and @gavinguidry.bsky.social kills it on every page. Adriano Lucas' colours pop, giving the book a vibrant, playful feel.

I think this is gonna be the start of a great run.

Order cutoff is Feb 3!

Every angle of this entire administration is that they just want you to lay there and take it, and if you don’t, then you’re responsible for the escalation of violence you made them visit upon you.

They’re abusers down to their very core and they traffic solely in the language of abusers.
I watched the entire DHS press conference which Bovino just held a few minutes ago. They are tripling down on the fascism. Bovino could not have not been more clear that there is nothing that can't be justified in the name of immigration enforcement, and that there will never be consequences for ICE

For writers: work with the best artist you can find. Your story is only as good as the person drawing it.

For artists: work with a writer who treats you as a co-author, not as a hired hand executing their vision.

Your reminder that entering the country illegally is only a misdemeanor and overstaying your legal status is a civil violation.

And people are being killed over it.

Solicits are out for Flash 32 and JSA 18, coming in April. Here’s a look at the two new covers I did for Flash.

You can now really see the new details on the suit.

If I waited for my kids' fevers to break the same way Schumer and Jeffries are waiting for the "(MAGA) fever" to break, they'd die.

There's only so much posturing and strategizing we can survive. Eventually it needs to be (proverbial) boot-to-ass time.

Can't save a dead country.
This is refreshing and feels right.

I don't believe in the 3D chess explanations of strategy and procedure any longer, if I ever did.

Look at Mamdani. He said he wanted to make the buses free and freeze the rent and do free childcare... and that's what he's working on.

Just say it and do it!
There is no "actually to remove Trump from office the solution is not to talk about Trump being removed from office."

That is not a thing. You want to remove him you push to remove him. Same for Abolishing ICE, passing universal health care, whatever. Push for the thing and don't censor yourself.

This is probably a bit much, but sincerely, most of us could talk about the craft of making comics till we're blue in the face.

And for me, the invisible hand of great storytelling is a huge part of it, and something that I hope, one day, to achieve.
If you're ever reading a comic, that's on anything other than a 6 panel grid (though those take work, too) and you find the storytelling to be clear and easy to read, that's only because of tons of work and consideration behind the scenes that most people don't notice.

Probably something to do with his head being in the way, by virtue of being up his ass.
Wifi was down at the WH today so I didn’t get to post this, which, once again people: everything is gender.
