I wrote a letter back in 2015 with the intent of it being shared to help raise awareness for autism.

It's sad that the point I made back then still remains true today.

A letter. It reads:

My name is ___, I am 15 years old and autistic. A lot has happened; judgements, arguments and even meltdowns.

Public understanding of autism needs to change, by alot.

For example; Did you jnow that 99% of people know about autism, yet 87% of autistic adults/children believe the public don't understand enough.

We fight for awareness, but why do we? Because we're misunderstood; and we want to be understood.

I stand here now and ask that people who somewhat or totally agree share this on. We need to fight for even more awareness.

I am the same! I literally have to sit there with the lyrics open the first few times and memorise the lyrics before I can start to hear the song with those lyrics.

I have hearing loss + auditory processing. This comic sums up one of my daily struggles

plus due to hearing loss I can't hear silent sounds.. so when people spell things out I always have to ask for clarification what letter they're saying because I literally can't hear the difference between them.
